Most of us tend to believe our Pets are safe when they are just playing around the house or garden, however there are many hidden dangers that could potentially be a threat to a pet wearing a standard collar. An example of this came from a friend of ours Lindsey (owner of 2 lovely dogs called Skippy and Dougal). One day while just playing inside the house Dougal managed to get his collar caught on a radiator pipe sticking out from the wall and was obviously struggling to free himself for some time and only escaped tragedy when he managed to pull the whole radiator off the wall. A weaker dog or stronger fittings would have led to a very different ending to that story. Also when we take our pets out on a walk there are bushes, fences, branches and various underwater hooks that could easily catch our pets while going about there normal investigations.
The Most Frequently Reported Accidents
Fence: Occurs when peering over, jumping onto, or digging under.
Two dogs at play: Occurs when lower jaw of one dog becomes caught in the other's collar.
Crate: when ID tags become stuck in bars of crate (statistically same as 2 dogs at play).
Branches: happens when collar becomes tangled in brush/branches when playing outdoors.
Heating/Cooling Air Vents: Occurs when ID tags become affixed to air vent.
